Play Readers will meet June 1

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, June 1, upstairs at the Campus Theatre at 7 pm to read a play out loud. Last time, we read Dan Creson's start of a new script and Paul Rudnick's I Hate Hamlet.

The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be June 15.

Don't forget that on June 10, Dennis Welch will be leading the Second Saturdays Seminar! The topic is "Open Call," and Dennis will cover all aspects for auditioning for a non-musical play, including cold readings, monologues, and improvisation exercises. (We'll cover auditioning for musicals in another seminar.) Participants are welcome to bring a monologue to workshop. Dennis is currently directing Night of the Iguana for DCT, and has been through the audition process as an actor or director for over 40 years. Play Readers of Denton meets May 25

Play Readers of Denton will meet Tuesday, May 25, at 7 pm upstairs at the Campus Theatre to read a play out loud.

Last week, Playwrights of Denton met, with three potential readers but no writers, so we had a merry chat and then adjourned. The next meeting of Playwrights of Denton will be June 15.

Mark your calendars now for the Second Saturdays Seminar on June 12--Dennis Welch will be leading a workshop on auditioning for plays (we'll tackle musicals separately in another seminar)! The seminar will run 1-3 pm at the Campus Theatre. Playwrights of Denton will meet Tuesday, May 18, upstairs at the Campus Theatre starting at 7 pm to support the work of local playwrights.

Last week, Play Readers of Denton met to read JM Barrie's classic Twelve-Pound Look. PROD will next meet Tuesday, May 25, to read a play out loud.

Music Theatre of Denton's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels opens tonight at the Campus Theatre, and runs through May 23. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sunday afternoons at 2 pm.
